Abbey is a 5’8″ combo guard who is one of the best if not the best shooter in the state of Tennessee in the class of 2014. Abbey has a solid handle and can run the point if necessary but is best suited to spread the defense out and shoot off the pass, off screens and off the dribble. Abbeys footwork has improved in the past year and she has a quick high release that is difficult to defend if she is given space. Abbey’s ability to penetrate through contact has improved over the last year and she is working to incorporate a full array of pull-ups shot fakes and foot fakes into her offensive arsenal. As she develops a full range of offensive weapons she will be extremely difficult to stop because of her range and the quickness of her release.
Abbey has good lateral agility on defense and uses her deceptively long arms to get steals and touches on balls by anticipating passing lanes. Abbey has become much more physical as a defender over the past year and is not afraid to body up with the offensive player to prevent penetration into the heart of the defense.
